All medical schools in the United States and Canada have stopped animal use for the purposes of basic medical training. Medical training in the US and Canada is thus being brought forward to the 21st century. I expect most other countries to follow suit and leave the past behind.
Just take a look at the past that is left behind: “At many medical schools, students who refused to participate were penalized or even expelled. At the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (the U.S. military’s medical school), students could be court-martialed for refusing to take part in the animal labs.”
Great news for medical schools, medical students, medicine, and of course great news for the animals.
